Black History Tour on the Soda Cap Connector

We are partnering with Cola SC63 to present the “Black History Tour on the Soda Cap Connector” in order to highlight local black history figures, events, and neighborhoods. The tour will begin at the Africa American Monument at the State House at 2pm.  The group will then walk down Main St. and will board the Soda Cap Connector at the corner of Main and Hampton and then ride to Five Points and back to the boarding location.

When: February 24, 2018

Time: 2pm-3:30pm

Where: The African American Monument at the State House

Transit has played a major role in the fight for Civil Rights. It was the driving force used to achieve equal rights for all Americans because of African-American figures such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, Wilhelmina Jakes and Carrie Patterson of Tallahassee, and South Carolina’s own, Sarah Mae Fleming.

This will be a fun and engaging experience for current riders and new riders alike. For more information on scheduling, routes, and fares please visit www.catchthecomet.org.
