NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

REGARDING PROPOSED

Route Changes

 Date:                        Wednesday, November 18, 2015

 Time:                        4:00PM – 7:00PM

Location:               The COMET Transit Center (Corner of Sumter St. and Laurel St., Columbia)

This forum will be held to present a proposal on changes to service restructuring on routes in North and Southeast Columbia. The changes are as follows:

North Columbia:

  • Route 101: North Main Come will out of Colonial Drive and stay on North Main. The end of the line will be at Piggly Wiggly and operate every 30 minutes.
  • Route 11: Colonial Heights and Route 30: Fairfield Rd will merge, all day service.
  • Route 23: State Park/Edgewood will be deleted and replaced by the new Route 301 on the Orbit and the new Route 32 covering the north part of 23.

Southeast Columbia:

  • Split 401: Garners Ferry so that the new 401 ends at Crowson.
  • New Route 45 covers the eastern part of 401 and meets at Crowson.
  • New Route 46 covers north of Garners Ferry farther east including Hallbrook, Caughman, Rawlinson, Leesburg, Padgett, and Trotter Roads and Lower Richland Blvd; transfers at Crowson.

This will be a drop-in format with staff on hand to explain and discuss the recommendations and receive customer input.

If you require handout materials in an accessible format, please call Pam at 803-255-7133 by the close of business on Wednesday, November 18, 2015.
