Due to unforeseen circumstances, only the fare changes and Route 92x will go into effect on January 28, 2019. All other changes will be effective on February 11, 2019. The COMET will wait up to five (5) minutes beyond its scheduled time for connecting buses at the Laurel & Sumter Transit Center in Downtown Columbia and at the following SuperStop locations:

  • Crowson
  • Harbison
  • Koon & Cody
  • Colombia Place Mall
  • Forest Drive
  • Village at Sandhills
  • Killian Road Walmart

If the bus is running late, the bus operator shall announce to passengers what routes they would need to wait, five minutes before arriving the connecting point. The bus operator upon getting to that point will call dispatch to request that the requested routes are held. Should the bus not arrive within the five minute mark, the requested held buses shall depart. The last trip of the requested route shall be permitted to wait until the connecting bus arrives.

At an intersection where two buses meet, should the connecting bus be at a bus stop or approaching a bus stop, the passenger shall request to the bus operator to hold the bus and the bus operator shall contact dispatch to hold the connecting bus. The connecting bus shall wait up to two (2) minutes before proceeding on.
